Every month, we curate the best blog posts and Instagrams from our Lonely Planet Pathfinders.

This month we’re featuring a video from a new Pathfinder on the block, videographer Mark Hadj Hamou, who brings us a captivating visual montage of Queenstown, New Zealand.

QUEENSTOWN 2017 – MARK HADJ HAMOU

‘An old friend decided to drop by New Zealand for a few weeks, and we just had to go on an adventure. Here’s what we got up to in Queenstown, a truly spectacular place to go exploring!’

A big thumbs up to Mark who has seamlessly pieced together a variety of shots to take us on his adventure. We particularly enjoyed the clever transition (at 00:00:14) which pulls us through the airplane window (literally) and into town, before being swept off our feet to enjoy stunning vistas of the mountainous landscape. Safe to say our hiking boots are at the ready! The colour treatment of these shots also gives the montage a nostalgic travel feel.

There were lots of great submissions this month. Hats off to The World Pursuit, who took us on an awe-inspiring journey to Tanzania with their latest video. Featuring epic drone footage of the free-roaming wildlife we couldn’t help but be reminded of classic scenes from Disney’s The Lion King. Mark Zwijgers also shared a beautifully shot video montage of his month-long trip to Thailand.

Thank you to all the Pathfinders who submitted videos this month – keep your eyes peeled on our Thorn Tree forum where we’ll post the next submission call-out.
